2025 BC First Nations Forestry Conference

The BC First Nations Forestry Council is honored to host the 2025 BC First Nations Forestry Conference, themed "Everything is Connected," on the traditional territories of the Syilx Okanagan people in SnPink'tn (Penticton), British Columbia. We are humbled to be guests on these lands, which the Syilx people have cared for and stewarded since time immemorial. This annual gathering brings together First Nations, industry partners, and government representatives to explore the interconnections within British Columbia's forest sector, emphasizing traditional knowledge, sustainable practices, and collaborative partnerships shaping the future of forestry in the province.

COFI 2025 Convention

The BC Council of Forest Industries (COFI) will hold its Annual Convention from April 2-4, 2025, at the Prince George Civic Centre. Under the theme of “Where Do We Stand? Strategies for Competitiveness and Sustainability” the 2025 COFI Convention will tackle the factors and innovations actively reshaping the future of the forest sector in BC and elsewhere.

Measuring the Impact of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives on Organizational Performance

While many organizations have applied an EDI lens to their organizational strategy, research has shown that fewer organizations have robust metrics for evaluating the success of their EDI initiatives. In this webinar, Nancy Mitchell, Director, Research - Special Projects at Diversity Institute, will discuss the elements of EDI and why they are important in developing and supporting organizational strategy and accountability. This session is for organizational leaders that want to apply an EDI lens to all aspects of the value chain and will explore how to measure the success of an organization’s EDI strategy.

Concrete examples will be used to demonstrate how measurement can improve EDI outcomes and illustrate not just the opportunities quality metrics create but the common challenges and barriers that many organizations face. The session will conclude with examples of the risks in failing to create accountability EDI outcomes.
